As long as you know how to set it up, I'm supporting you and Tusami ALL THE WAY. :3 And, what I suggest is everyone pitch in for ideas for Taro's podcast.

No No. Don't apoligize. ^^; Anyways, a podcast is like a radio show for your ipod. Hint the "PODcast". Taro I think found a way to do it with the help of Tusami. Basically we're making our own radio show for those who can't be on Eon fourms often. ^^;

It'd be kinda cool, but do we really have anything to podcast about? LOL Anyways, it'd be nice if we all could contribute something to the podcast. Plus it doesn't all have to be Eon related stuff. No offense, but I think it'd be a bit boring if it was just Tusami and Taro all the time. Perhaps everyone could have their own section for the podcast and or different sections hosted by different people. LOL mine would be really weird/ perverted... It'd wind up being me rambling on about my interesting interests, so I think it would work out better if we all picked a section we want to contribute to and talk about that. For instance, I'd do the anime section and contribute to the video game section since I stay fairly on top of that stuff.

I agree with Momaru, I think everyone could be apart of this. *looking at video games* I'd LOVE to help with this, and.... it's just gonna be freakin' awesome!

Okey dokey, looks like I'm playing Devil's Advocate here. Commence with the naysaying!
I don't think it's a good idea. I mean, what can you put into a podcast that you can't put on here? I admit that songs can't be put on there, but personally I won't listen to a podcast just to listen to a song I want. If I want to listen to a song I'll hork it from the net and put it on my iPod as a song.
Of course, the whole antics that would be going on would likely be lulzworthy, I still don't like podcasts in general. So sue me. I view them as radio shows that never change. I don't get the point.
Then again, I don't get the point in Java interfaces when everyone else thinks they're fantastic, so think what you will.

Lmfao, Dana, I didn't know what a Podcast meant either until Kama answered you. xDD ...Hell, I didn't even know such thing exist. o_o *looks at my iPod lovely* Er... BUT ANYWAY! It sounds like fun, but... I'm not sure if it's fair on me. As you all know, I am hard of hearing and I probably won't get to understand most of the things you guys will say so that worries me the most. Other than that, it sounds like fun and I'd like to be part of it!
Sugguestions for the Podcast: x) Random quote of the day x) Talk about a particular character x) Opinions about the eons and on some certain subjects x) Story telling?
I don't think I fully grasp the idea myself. xD;;; But whichever you guys wanna do is cool with me~

I still dont totally get it..not to mention how excately do we go about this? I guess thats what confuses me cause I dont have an ipod or anything..or really anything that picks up raido around here..tho I dont think that matters...but I mean if we can get this to work out I would be more than happy to have myself give a bit of louisiana weather information! ...cause it makes no sense..considering that its january and its like..70-80* outside..with about 2 days in the 50-60*s and then back to the 80's!...I love it here XD

I agree, Ani! It wouldn't be fair on me either ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/sad.png) I'm completely deaf and don't listen to music... Heck! I'm terrible when it comes to understanding all the different sounds so I probably would have absolute no idea what they're saying on the podcast!

Ok, since everyone seems really confused for some odd reason about what exactly a pod cast is, the only advice I can give is go and find a good one to listen to. Also here is a possible outline of how our podcast could work. Also, for you Deaf? deaf? (Yeah the capitalization thing throws me for a loop) and or hearing impaired people out there, a manuscript of the show will be given to you. Dana, if you want to participate, someone could speak for you, or we could run whatever text you write through an audio text reader. Opera has a good one if memory serves. That'd probably be best so we can tell who is supposed to be speaking. The only thing is it's a male voice, but it is fairly clear and easy to understand.
1. Welcome to the show!: a quick overview of the topics being covered on the podcast, and introduction of everyone on the podcast. 2. On the forums!: News, updates, and spotlights on things going on in the forums 3. Idea watch: What's the DL with peoples ideas for the RPG. Perhaps a different opinion could be offered by a forum member each time. 4. Focus art: a corner to give shutouts to artists on DA or otherwise you think everyone needs to check out. 5. Movies and books: This section focuses on news, rumors, features, and reviews for movies and books. 6. Anime central: Your one stop shop for the latest news on anime, manga, and Japanese culture. Also includes features and reviews of various anime and manga. 7. Game on!: Your one stop ship for the latest news, rumors, opinions/reviews, and features on video games. 8. My word!: This is the editorial section, where someone gets to blab on and on about whatever topic they choose. 9. Tech watch and on the web: Features news and reviews on cool gadgets and new technologies. It also features a section that talks about net culture and points out interesting web sites. 10. so long and thanks for all the fish: The ending, just a quick review of the podcast and some hints at what is in the works for next time.
Between each section or two we could play a song. The people working on the preceding section get to pick the song. Also we would need to decide on time lengths for each section. I think either 10, or 15 minutes max for each. Also, who would host each section needs to be decided.

I have to agree with Keitaro on this- it seems kinda... pointless. I mean, do we really have the time to do this? Several of us are in college, the rest have some other type of school, I believe- several of us have jobs, and then there's always other stuff we're going to have to do. And, seriously- what WOULD be on it? Using Momaru's format:
[[On the forums!]]- Well, most people are on the forums daily, or at least once a week. So they check what's new then. Same with the 'idea watch'. We have a whole board for that- a whole suggestion board. As for the 'focus art', if we like something, we fave it, or we tell people about it on IM, OR we can post in in the artwork sections of the Eon forums. The for the 'movies, anime, game sections'- well, we have discussion forums for those. That's WHY the discussion boards were created. The 'editorial' idea is already present on the forums to: we have the "Other Topics' board, and the 'Rant' board. Even the technology one can be passed on through word-of-mouth, or found in news letters, or again, posted on the boards. As for the song idea, why can just send good songs to each other, or post in on the "What are you listening to?" thread. It seems like this would just be... well, not particularily helpful to Eon. I think we should invest our time on something that's already working for us- the forums.

Well, the more I think about this, the more I'm starting to see how it's not particularly helpful... I'm sorry guys but... Eirra has a pretty good point. I admit, I am in college myself and if I can't finish my artwork, then I don't know if I could be able to do something useful for this project. The way she explained everything, well, it is true. What would be on this podcast thing?

Personally, I think the Podcast idea would be a wonderful addition to improve the forums. First off, many people didn't know what a podcast was and then thought the idea wasn't particularly useful and just time consuming. Well let me go over it a bit.
The main reason for the podcast is to expand the connectivity of the forums to those who have difficulty accessing them on a regular basis or are extremely busy but still want to keep up with what is happening. This can be useful for many different people though certainly won't affect everyone and by no means do you have to use it either. Here's an example of how it can be useful: Let's say you've been bogged down with a ton of homework recently and you've been working and studying your ass off. You wish you could take a break but if you go on Eon forums, that means internet, and that means distractions, and that means not getting any work done. (This happens a lot to a lot of people too) But yet you can muti-task easily by doing work and listening to music. Why not combine both and just listen to the Eon boards? This way you can still know what's going on and be involved and up-to-date and be entertained and get your work done!
It can help you make the most of your time like if you have to take a long bus ride everyday and you just pop in your head phones and poof! Or if you have restricted access to the boards from home or school and your parents only let you get on the computer once a year, make it worth your while and download the podcast. Remember those times when you get on the boards and there's 100 new posts you have to look through and it takes all freaking day and you get no where because you spent all your time just reading one gigantic post and then you're too tired to read the rest and then it keeps building up and up and you never get through anything!? Yeah, that won't be such a problem anymore if you could listen to all the most important updates in less than an hour. Did I mention that not only is it helpful in keeping you up to date but all highly entertaining. Taro, I, Kaito, and a few other people recently got into listening to the podcast "Clawcast" and we end up laughing at most every episode. This is a good example of a podcast if you were looking for one to try out. A basic overview of how our podcasts would run... look at Momaru's post. He's got it pretty much down.
So, Taro and Kaito and I are sitting here and we're about ready to record our first episode. Even if you don't like this idea or whatever, we still feel that it can be beneficial to the forums and we are willing to give it a shot if you guys are. Try it. We'll make a discussion board about it so you can give us your feedback so we can decide if we want to continue or not. And we'll make a text version for the hearing impaired. You can still get the overview simplicity of the podcast by reading it instead of going through hundreds of posts on the boards. This can also be very helpful here at the start for you, Draga, since we have yet to type up a new Eon overview Storyline and such, listening to the podcast will be much easier to catch up to date. Alright, that's it for now. If you've got any more questions and most importantly, suggestions, please feel free to post.

Just a FYI, I don't listen to music when doing hw since I honestly do get distracted easily but I get your point. xD
But since now that you explained it more, I guess it does make sense now. God, I keep swaying from argee to disargee about this idea. xD But yeah, I guess that can work. I'm just unsure about the idea because... well, I don't listen to any kind of podcast... or radio for that matter of some kind so I never really had any exerience. I'm just confused on HOW it works mostly. xD; *five minutes later* .... *stares at the word ''Podcast' on my iPod* Well then... there it is. xD; But like I said, I dunno how it works. And don't forget, some people don't have an iPod such as Night [she has an MP3 player, would that still work?] and Dana, so... is it just going to be a big loss for them? And how long are the episodes usually? And lastly, it doesn't cost anything, right? *my turn to feel like that I live under a rock now*
Remember those times when you get on the boards and there's 100 new posts you have to look through and it takes all freaking day and you get no where because you spent all your time just reading one gigantic post and then you're too tired to read the rest and then it keeps building up and up and you never get through anything!?
That sounds like you, Tusami. xD No, no, I'm kidding. But yeah, even though I haven't had that problem as of lately, I'm sure this whole cast thing will be helpful to some of the people such as yourself, Tusami. And you guys are going to add subtext?? Freakin' awesome! I didn't know you can do that but that's awesome! It'll definately help me out tremedulously. :D
Overall, even though I'm still unsure about it, I would still like to give this a try and see how it works out. It oughta be interesting that's for sure~! 8>

Again, I'm gonna play Devil's Advocate here.
(FYI, since my opinions are often kinda out there, I doubt anyone will agree, but when did that ever stop me?)
I think that it's a waste of time and possibly damaging to the forums.
Tusami, you say that it will save time for those that can't get on the forums. You also gave an example of homework. My rebuttal is that isn't a podcast just as distracting as the expanse of teh intarwebz? Since a podcast likens to a radio show, people will be talking. A lot. And, again, this may be just me, but I find it incredibly difficult to follow a conversation when I'm trying to do homework. But if I concentrate on the conversation so I can comprehend what is being said, then I lose my concentration on my homework.
Secondly, who gets to decide what's important and what's not? (I'm probably going to get lynched for saying this, but...) If there's new drama introduced on the board, the people who run the podcast (i.e., you and Taro) will put a spin on what's going on in accordance to your viewpoint. This will taint people's views and lead them to think one way. Not only does this lead to groupthink, which is bad enough in and of itself, it also creates a sort of "forum elite", so those that can't/won't contribute will never have a say in what's reported and what's not. Who are you (or me, or anyone) to decide what's important and what's not? I honestly don't want to post something, have it reported as meaning something it didn't, have everyone send me angry PMs because they listened to the podcast and didn't read the original post, and not be able to actually present how it was supposed to be read because it "wasn't important enough to be in the podcast". I won't be a part of something where that's possible. To be honest, I might leave because it will lead to very, very bad things. Having a few people control what content the forumites get will only lead to drama.
Just mah deuce cents.
