At first, everything was blank. There was nothing, just an pitch black void. Eventually, the void was replaced by seemingly random bits of information that coalesced into memories. These memories told him all he needed to know in life. They told him everything from how to talk to how to write. Most importantly, they told him how and why to fight, and how to obey his masters. Something wasn't right, he couldn't tell what it was, but his memories didn't seem to recall his entire past. They only told him that the mutants were evil and that LIGHT was the force of justice who tried to destroy all of the evil mutants called Eon. Indeed, something was wrong. Why wouldn't his memories tell him who he was? Why wouldn't they tell him anything beyond what was necessary for him to be the perfect solder for LIGHT? All he could remember about himself was his name, Momaru.
The memories began to occur much faster, and more vividly than before. It was if they were trying to keep Momaru from thinking on his own. Maybe it was just his desire to learn the truth, but somehow under it's own accord, Momaru's mind reached out and touched other people's minds. Most had no idea what an Eon was, some minds agreed with his memories, and there were the few minds that told him the exact opposite of what his own memories told him. These were the minds of the Eons themselves. Through the Eon's minds, Momaru was able to experience their memories, thoughts and feelings as if they were his own. The borrowed experiences told him of the truth. They told him how these mutants struggled to survive against LIGHT and normal peoples prejudices. As he experienced these memories he became more and more angry until something snapped inside of him. Momaru decided not to listen to his own memories anymore, and learn the truth for himself. He began to awaken. Around him, strange things began to happen. First, every electronic device began to flicker on and off as a crack began to appear in the gigantic test tube he was floating in. As Momaru awakened, the crack in the tank became bigger, and eventually began to leak the translucent blue fluid that he was suspended in. Finally, his eyes flew open, and at that instant, the tank broke, and all the machines in the room suddenly exploded into a shower of sparks. Momaru fell to the floor amongst the pool of liquid and broken glass from his tank. He was sent into a coughing fit as he breathed his first breaths of air on his own while everything around him continued to erupt into flames. It was if he were a baby coming out of it's mothers womb. He quickly gained his composure and assessed his surroundings. His first thought was “ I am awake, but now how should I escape this place?”
Unfortunately, his contemplations of what to do next were cut short when a heavily armed guard came running into the room. Momaru instinctively lunged at the guard and grabbed him by the neck as he lifted the helpless guard off of the ground into the air. Momaru decided he was waisting precious time choking the guard to death and quickly rid himself of the guard by smashing his head into a nearby wall. Waisting no time, Momaru stole the guards clothing and put it on. “I couldn't have waltzed out of the building completely naked anyways” Momaru thought. Although Moamaru really wished he could, but that sort of blatant perversion had to be left for a more suitable time. Suddenly, all of the lights in the facility dimmed as red alert lights began to flash on and off, “Great, I take that to mean that they've learned of my escape already. If I an just lie low I should be able to escape still with no problems. Speaking of escaping, I am totally lost! I'd better find an information terminal soon.” Momaru thought as he began his search for a map. When he finally found what he was looking for, he quickly accessed all of the data he needed to plan his escape route. Just then, he felt someone's hand on his shoulder. Automatically, as if his whole body were on autopilot, Momaru grabbed the stranger by the arm, and in one swift movement managed to get the guard into such a position as to where Momaru was able to smash the mans head into the computer screen that he had been looking at moments before. “W-What just happened here? How did I do this?” Momaru stammered as he paused for a moment to collect his senses. However, his train of thought was derailed by the nagging feeling that he should keep moving no matter what. Pausing for even a seconds respite could mean certain death. Momaru had decided that the quickest and least dangerous route of escape was through the staff parking garage which was the least secure exit in the entire compound. Momaru evaded the security teams that were hunting for him, and the occasional employee or scientist whenever possible. When such conflicts couldn't be avoided, Momaru opted to merely knock out his adversaries rather than kill them. It wasn't that Momaru didn't want to kill anyone. It was simply that the weapons he stole would either be ineffective against the heavily armored guards, or would have made too much noise that would have surely attracted unwanted attention. Momaru eventually managed to reach the parking garage with little difficulty.
After reaching the remotest, and the safest part of the parking garage, Momaru began to hot wire the nearest car. Just as he was finishing fumbling around inside of the black luxury sedan in order to make it run, Momaru felt a light tap on his shoulder and a rather polite “excuse me?” Momaru wasn't completely in control of his body. It was to be an unusual occurrence, but the stress of having to escape caused Momaru to loose his usual cool demeanor and react automatically and viscously to any possible threat. There may have been an earsplitting shriek, but it was all over before Momaru could do anything about it. It was if he were simply a bystander watching his own body act in slow motion without being able to control it. He was only able to watch as his body brutally shot the woman five, then six times in the torso and head. Momaru fell to his knees and hands in shock the moment he regained control of his body amidst the slowly growing pool of blood from the womans wounds. After giving the woman a cursory glance he confirmed his suspicion, this woman had been an innocent person who didn't even work for LIGHT. “What have I done!? No! This wasn't supposed to happen like this! Why did it have to be a innocent person?!” Momaru wailed as hot tears ran down his cheeks and blurred his vision. It was all just too much to stomach, and Momaru added his own watery vomit to to the pool of blood that he was kneeling in. Moamru quickly regained his composure and stopped crying. There would be time for that after he escaped Momaru realized. It wasn't much, but Momaru cleaned the womans face of blood as best as he could with a silk handkerchief he found tucked inside the womans breast pocket and straightened out her blond hair and body to make her look like she was only sleeping. He then gently closed the womans eyes and covered her face with the bloodied handkerchief. “I am sorry about what I've done, but I swear to avenge your death by one day destroying LIGHT, whose deeds lead to your untimely death. If they had never created me, then none of this would have happened. However, you can still help me in one way.” Momaru said as he took the deceased woman's wallet out of her purse. Momaru finally got up of the ground and discarded the bloody gloves from the guards uniform that he had stolen. Finally, Momaru closed the hood on the black sedan and got inside. He started the car and drove off sobbing gently into the night unhindered except for a few unfortunate toll gates and one rather frightened security guard.
