Well, there's only three things you really have to worry about when uploading a video. The file type, the file size, and the movie length. First make sure your video is in one of these formats:
.avi, .mov, .wmv, mpeg, .mp4
If it isn't one of those formats, that means you need to convert it. First, what device did you use to capture the video? Phone? Camera? Camcorder? Second, how did you transfer it it the computer? Did you use a special software? A lot of times, programs may save your movie file an a format that's specific to that program. There's usually an export function that will save it to one of the standard formats.
If your video is a correct format, check to see if your video is over 10 minutes long. If so, you'll need to divide it up into different parts or cut some of it out. Even if your file size is too big, cutting it in half will cut the file size in half too and solve more than one problem.
You now must check the file size. Youtube allows movies up to 100 megabytes I believe. If it's over that, that means you have to either compress it or break it up into separate parts and upload them separately. All windows computers should have Windows Movie Maker installed on them. It's free and it works and it's already there for you so go ahead an use that when dealing with your videos. It's under start>programs>accessories. Save your projects to .wmv format, especially if they're .avi files because it will compress them down nice and easy for you... avi files are huge!
If you need help with any of this, just ask me. If your internet connection is slow too, uploading stuff to youtube is going to take a LONG time. Also be sure you have the latest version of flashplayer. Since it might help the upload process. If you video meets all these requirements and it's still not working, talk to me and we'll try to figure this out. Hope this helps!
