This thread is for the discussion of all our A-Kon plans. We'll make another thread stating our final plans once we get it all figured out on here. Kay? Kay. So let's start with the basics.

Location: Sheraton Dallas Hotel in Dallas, Texas
Transportation (Coloradans)[/u]
Means: Riley's Car
Drivers: Ani and Riley
Distance: 740.52 miles. (1606.62 miles round trip)
Time: 12 hours. (24 hours round trip) Not counting stops
Gas: $300-330 Total (At approx. $3.50 (might be more like $3.80) per gallon for 14 gallons, each fill-up is about $50-55.
Approx miles covered between fill-ups: 300 max (kinda pushing it).
Total fill-ups: About 6)
Departure Time To Texas: To be decided, May 29th
Arrival Time In Texas: To be decided, May 29th
Departure Time Back to Colorado: To be decided, June 2nd

Driving Plan:All con-goers meet in a designated location (TBD, probably Ani's house or something) early in the morning. (And I mean really early, just don't know how early) Load up the car and head south. Every 2 hours or so, Ani and I will switch off driving. We will need to stop for gas about 2 or 3 times on the way and stop for breakfast and lunch and rest/bathroom breaks. Arrive in Dallas 15-16 hours later from departure time. Meet up with Night and check in to the hotel. Eat dinner and go to bed.
Lodging[/u]
Hotel: Sheraton Dallas Hotel
Room: Night's room, rated for 4 people (haha)
Roomates: Night, Fido, Mikko, Allie, Rachel, Riley, Kama, Ani, and Thrax.
Sleeping Plan: Yes it's very cozy. But you will deal with it if you want to get a room for cheap. You do have the option however to stay in Lucas' room (mostly offered to Fido an/or Thrax.) So far is looks like Ani, Fido, and Night are guaranteed a bed. I have volunteered to sleep on the floor. If you are sleeping on the floor, bring a sleeping bag or blanket. Remember that the hotel room is only for sleeping and we won't be spending much time in there so it won't be that bad.
Pricing:[/u]
Gas: $80-90 per person (covers gas, some maintenance work, and the luxury of riding in my car. We put in new brakes, got the oil changed, and replaced the windshield wiper blades for you guys too. I need this paid upfront so I can put it on my card to make it easy to pay for gas)
Hotel: To be decided by Night. And she wants it in cash if you don't mind :)
Food: You determine how much you'll need for 4 days worth. Bring snacks for the car to trip to save a little money too.
A-kon ticket: $55 at the door (unless you've already pre-registered)
Souvenirs: You'll need to determine the amount you want to waste- I mean spend - on stuff at the con.
What to bring:[/u]
Obviously there is very limited space in my car and the hotel. So we need to outline a few things to make this work out best for all of us. Let me know if you think of anything else...
Clothing:
-A set of clothes for driving in the car and to save space, use the same clothes for the trip back home.
-A set of clothes for the rave
-Another set of clothes for general use
-Your costume(s)
-Pajamas
-Swimsuit (Optional)
Essentials:
-Deodorant (PLEASE!)
-Cell Phone and charger
-Money
-Toothbrush/toothpaste
-Hair products (like comb, hair ties, etc)
-Any medications you need

-iPod/music CDs for car
-Handheld game system and charger

-Pillow/sleeping bag/blanket (if you're on the floor)
