Without any more fanfare, I give you my server. Do with it what you will, and if there are problems/suggestions be sure to let me know. eon.mine.nu/(By the way, for some reason the server will work intermittently. I blame my firewall. But know that I'm working to fix it. Habeeb it!)

I'm coming out of my cave to make another announcement.
The server has been down for an unknown period of time. Due to the ignorance of my family and my own idiocy I've had to reset everything on there. However, I doubt this is a wrench for any of you since I doubt the server was even up for more than two weeks or so.
In spite of this, Riley has very kindly asked me to get the server back up and running. So I shall. Just as an FYI.
The server shall return!

Cool! I can't wait until we can host the wiki on it, and maybe the podcast. It'd be cool if we could host the forums there too, but proboards already works really well for us.

Well, server is up and running once more. It's still just like me though - ridiculously unreliable. I still can't figure out why it randomly switches between working and not working. I blame my DNS service. /shakefist At any rate, again, it's eon.mine.nu/. Have fun with it. EDIT: Turns out I lied. It's gonna be down for a while until I can get something to cool it. Apparently my server blue screens when its on for too long. So yeah, it turns out the server will be down intermittently. I are working on teh solushun, I swears it.

Ahh this wiki thing turned out to be more of a pain in the ass than I thought it was going to be! At this rate, I'll be spending a lot of time this summer working on coding for the wiki. For example, my mind has been thrown for a loop by the way wikis do that linking to other articles thing that they do down at the bottom of the page. I am not looking forward to making those things. They confuse the heck out of me. Ah well, hopefully I can get some help from the other people that know HTML and whatnot around here. That amounts to, what, 3 people? Me, Kaito?, and Shelly I believe are the only ones that know how to do the coding, and Kei probably isn't interested in working on it. Great, we will be the code monkeys that get to format everything that everyone else posts, and take care of all the linking.

Alright, thank Kei for letting us know how the project is coming. Though I'm sorry about all the problems you've been having and I know that must be a pain to re-code everything, no rush! I don't expect you to really work on this or anything till school is out. You worry about your finals and AP tests, and good luck with those!
Also to answer your question on your note, I think having a DA/SA style art/writing page would be cool. Right now we do use deviantART (though no one hardly updates it but me) and I think that having one on DA is good for the promotion of our individual galleries. That would be the only negative thing about having a special private version for ourselves: no publicity. But I wouldn't mind updating the DA gallery to correspond to our Eon Gallery just so other people besides us can see our artwork, cause I'm doing that anyways. So I think it would be great to organize and post our artwork in a much better format than what we use on the forums. Personally, I really don't like using the forums to put up all of our artwork because it's so unorganized and you have to upload it to photobucket or something to display it. It's a pain really. So if your servers can handle it Kei and you're willing to do it, I think we'd really benefit and get a lot of use out of it.
And to answer your question Bryce, yes I do know some html and I'm working on improving my CSS while Kaito is starting to learn C++ from my dad and knows a bit of html. But I don't think that really matters since I wouldn't know where to start when making a Wiki and I thought Kei already had the framework laid out for it. I'd love to help but this really is too advanced for me. ^^'And um... If I'm not mistaken, Keitaro IS interested in working on the wiki, seeing as he is the one setting it all up for us.

I KNOW! We MUST have an OEKAKI! Sometimes my ideas astound even myself! LOL

OMG yes! Now THAT is a great idea! I'd love to have an Eon oekaki and I'm sure all the other artists on here would too. Dang, what kind of coding would we have to do to get THAT one to work? Sounds really difficult.

@both of you: I haven't coded a single thing yet. I used/am using a pre-coded Wiki call MediaWiki. It's the code base that Wikipedia itself uses, so it looks, sound, and quacks exactly the same. www.mediawiki.org/wiki/MediaWikiSo yeah, you guys seem to be laboring under that delusion. However, I did offer to code some things myself, as I need to improve my skills and I enjoy having things to work on. As for an oekaki board (ashamedly I had to look that one up), I think I know enough about Java to code one from scratch. In all honesty I could get that one done much faster than an art community framework, seeing as how I know way more about Java and OO programming than I do about PHP and SQL. *looks guiltily at the three inch thick PHP book that's been sitting on his desk for half a year* That and I need to brush up on my sockets and TCP/IP anyway, so it would be a neat project to try. It wouldn't be particularly difficult, seeing as how Java has an entire built in abstract windowing toolkit. The only problem I can foresee about that is that you guys are fairly prolific artists and I only have some 14 gigabytes of free space. Ah well, cross that bridge when we get there, I suppose. As for cooling... when in doubt, use the refrigerator. I plan to keep it up as much as possible for a while, because I get bored a lot and Team Fortress 2 is still socially broken (WHY DID YOU HAVE TO RELEASE ACHIEVEMENTS FOR ONLY MEDICS, VALVE?!?!?!) and I hate studying. So if you feel like it, check in on the server and if you're lucky it'll be up and running. kbai

You know you don't have to code a brand new Oekaki. There are several that can be found on the internet already. There may be some modifying you have to do to get it to fit, but the applet itself should be fairly easy to just "drop in" since it is self contained and the coding for it is already done. If you want the practice though, go ahead. See if you can make a better one than the ones that are already out there. LOL the thing will be a shit load of listeners.

You must not know me very well. I'm miserable unless I have something to do or some goal in mind, something to code or research of figure out or whatever. That, combined with my ADD-like tendencies ensure that I'm only content when I have a whole host of things to do. This is naught but one more fun thing for me to do. That, and I'm pretty sure that I can whip something up that's a bit more intuitive. Make no mistake, I'm sure it will be a challenge, but I'm usually up for challenges. If I ever get off my lazy ass and do something with them, that is...
But yeah. I like doing stuff like this. Some stuff I'll take and use with no problem (i.e. using MediaWiki) because there isn't any point in reinventing the wheel. But here it seems like the whole oekaki scene is sorely lacking applets that have good features. I mean, hey, if I can make something that rivals Lascaux and release it as open source, then I've hit a jackpot... Maybe a jackpot of breakfast cereals!
Anyhow, I'm rambling.
