Umm... I think you guys are taking all of this a TAD too seriously. It's a GAME. You guys should really try and make sure that you're anchored in reality before you do any of this... The RPG community certainly does not need another Steam Tunnel Incident on its collective hands. There's quite enough blood there already.
So please... I'm sure your guys' characters are special to you all in their own little ways. But... Don't you think the "I die a little on the inside" is going a tad too far? Maybe I'm overstepping my authority here, in which case feel free to yell at me in whatever way possible... But still. It's a game. It's several sheets of paper, a rulebook, and seven dice. It won't be real until we get something akin to the Matrix (which I can't wait for, by the way). I dunno. Just my thoughts.
(Also, even then, nobody says you HAVE to play your characters. Make new ones! Think outside the box! Roleplay as something unique, something the likes of which has never been seen! That, my friends, is the very essence of roleplaying. Being someone that you've always wanted to be but can't because murder is illegal, people frown on cannibalism, and most people think rape is a bad thing.)

Yah, make new characters, or IDk, have them magically come back from the dead or something! When playing a game, even if your character dies and you are out for the rest of the game, they can be played again next time! LOL it seems someones been paying attention in Ms. Bitter's class.
